General Information

In order for the City of Gastonia Fire Department to meet the highest standards of excellence in service, we task ourselves to do the following:

Stay abreast of the evolving needs of our community and its residents

Remain on the cutting edge of emergency service management and program delivery

Continuously strive to insure that our personnel remain up-to-date in all areas of national fire service standards certification and training

As a unified organization composed of skilled and specialized professional personnel, we pledge that we will exert every effort to remain actively involved in our community, and to serve and protect all of our residents and visitors.

• Ninth largest department in North Carolina
• Eight stations throughout Gastonia
• Provides fire & rescue services 24-hours a day for over 60,000 residents
• Responded to over 7,600 calls in 2004
• Average response time is 4:50 for all situations
• 135 full-time employees
