• Street Crimes Unit Sergeant.
• Joined the Gastonia Police Department in 1983.
• Career has included service with Patrol, Detectives, Training, and the Tactical Team.
• SWAT Training Coordinator.
• Commander of Gastonia Police Department's Honor Guard.
• Gastonia Police Department instructor, providing training to officers in firearms and tactical areas such as Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) aerosol spray, chemical munitions, officer safety, rapid deployment, use of tasers, and Basic Law Enforcement Training.
• Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Gardner-Webb University.
• Advanced Law Enforcement Certificate from the State of North Carolina Department of Justice Education and Training Standards Commission.
• Gastonia Police Department Awards include the Medal for Valor, Medal for Merit (Mayor's Award) and recognition numerous times for Exceptional Duty.
