Street Crimes Unit

When an environment of violence, community disorder or nuisances persist after numerous calls for police service, heavy enforcement can be the solution. Instead of responding to calls across the city like Patrol, or working on long-term undercover operations like Vice/Narcotics, the Street Crimes Unit can give concentrated effort on a problem area until the problem is resolved. Domestic Violence

D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education)

The Gastonia Police Department has been involved in the D.A.R.E. Program since 1989. Two D.A.R.E. Officers annually teach 1,200 fifth graders the D.A.R.E. curriculum. D.A.R.E. lessons are about team leadership, working together, self-esteem, saying no and building trust. For more information you may call 704.866.6989.
