

Gastonia Police Department's six-member Sniper Team formed in 1988 with the assistance of military special forces. Today, Gastonia Police firearms instructors offer basic police sniper school to local officers, as well as agencies across the country and members of the U.S. military upon request.
Topics in basic police sniper school include: marksman fundamentals, the role of the police sniper, ballistics, use and care of a scope, use of a data book, range estimations and tactical diagramming.
