The Land Development / Special Projects / Construction Inspections Division of the Engineering Department functions include review and approval of residential/commercial subdivisions and site plans, administration of the local Water/Sewer Permitting Approval Program, assigning new addresses, inspection of the construction of roads, water and sewer lines, storm drainage systems and driveways, and flood study submittals. The Special Projects Section administers design contracts through private consultants.
Construction Inspections inspects various water, sewer, storm drainage and roadway projects under contract by the City of Gastonia. This section is also responsible for inspecting new subdivisions, site plan inspections, driveway inspections and inspecting the annual resurfacing contract.
