Disconnect Services

Meter Reading 
If you are currently a City of Gastonia utility customer and need to disconnect your utility services, please submit your request through online Customer Self Service (CSS) or complete the online Disconnect & Transfer Utility Service Application. Please allow at least two (2) working days for your service request to be received and processed. If you need Same Day Service, please call our office at 704-866-6714 no later than 3:00 pm. Requests received after 3:00 pm, will be processed the next business day.

Your meter will be read on the scheduled Disconnect Date for your Final Bill which will be mailed to your new address. If there is a Deposit on the account, it will be applied to the Final Bill charges and any remaining balance will be refunded.

Offices for Utility Customer Service are open Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and are located in City Hall at 181 South Street on the first floor.
