From a small hospital that opened its doors more than 50 years ago, the 435-bed Gaston Memorial Hospital is now the anchor for CaroMont Health, an independent, not-for-profit care system. Eight affiliate companies including a network of 17 clinics and specialty physician offices deliver state of the art health care in the southwest Piedmont area. The CaroMont Heart Center provides a full range of life-saving cancer cardiac care including open-heart surgery. Facilities also include the Cancer Center and the new Birthplace Center.
