Gastonia Police Joins Federal Task Force On Monday July 25, 2005, Nine Gastonia officers officially joined the U.S. Marshals' Hornet's Nest Task Force. More..
"Prevent Crime Through Problem Solving Partnerships", is the mission of the police department. The department is a winner of the International Association of Chiefs of Police/ITT Industries' Community Policing Award. Gastonia's SWAT Team is a winner of the National SWAT Challenge and has won numerous other SWAT competitions. In addition, Gastonia has an active community watch program.
Officers of the Gastonia Police Department are highly trained law enforcement professionals offering a wide array of public safety services ranging from traffic accident reconstruction to crime scene investigations. Community partnerships and problem solving to prevent crime are emphasized.
