Bio
Councilman Dale Burkett was elected to the City Council to represent Ward III in November 2005. He retired from the City of Gastonia Fire Department after 33 1/2 years of service, rising to the rank of Division Chief in Operations. Councilman Burkett headed up the Special Operations Rescue and Hazardous Material Team and remains an active member of the City of Gastonia Fire Department Honor Guard.
Councilman Burkett is on staff at Gaston College as an instructor in the Regional Emergency Services Training Center. He earned his A.A.S. Degree in Fire Science Technology from Gaston College.
Councilman Burkett and his wife, Roberta, have one daughter, Risha Milner, of Asheville, North Carolina.
