One of the major benefits of working for the City of Gastonia is our fantastic benefits package. One of the major drawbacks is having to read through mountains of benefits information during open enrollment each year. Good thing HR is here to help!
The chart below provides detailed information about each of the City offered benefits, including premium rates, plan summaries and how-to guides. Please access the Open Enrollment page in CityNet to find beneficiary forms and enrollment forms where applicable.
Open enrollment is May 13, 2019 – May 31, 2019, for coverage effective July 1, 2019. Enrollments/Changes must be submitted through Employee Self Service (ESS) by midnight on May 31, 2019.
Questions about Employee Self Service? Your Employee Benefits Plan booklet provides “how to” guides for updating your demographic information, adding/editing dependent information as well as completing your benefits enrollment.

PLEASE NOTE: Employees who are adding dependents to health insurance during open enrollment will be required to submit verification documentation for each newly added dependent. Verification documents must be recieved by Human Resources no later than June 7, 2019. A list of verification documents and instructions can be found HERE.
