Keep Gastonia Beautiful's Art Committee is dedicated to create excitement and interest for our community including interactive opportunities for all age groups. We have sponsored several art works in our downtown including a statuary at City Hall and placed a kinetic tree sculpture "Ghillie Dhu's Enchantment" (tree spirit) at the Center City Park. The Art Committee has also hosted a school competition for students.  The winning art piece called "Marbles On Main" is displayed at the J.B. Garland Center on the main floor.  Artist - Kristen Caddick from Gaston Day School.  The Art Committee also dedicated an art piece at Heritage park named "Discursus" in 2017.

Beautification Committee

Keep Gastonia Beautiful works to improve the aesthetic image of our city through a variety of programs. Our organization continues to enhance our city's entranceways with tree plantings and landscaped areas. We offer a Neighborhood Cleanup that includes Bags, gloves, vests and pickup service are furnished for any neighborhood conducting a cleanup.  In a combined effort the Beautification Committee and Art Committee designed and installed a pocket park on Marietta Street and Second Avenue called Heritage Park.

Community Events Committee

Keep Gastonia Beautiful's Community Events Committee promotes and recognizes individuals, companies, and organizations that help support our programs and projects, and promotes the directives of our organization.  This commitee has been instrumental in our fund raisers and special events.

Education Committee

Keep Gastonia Beautiful's environmental education objectives are met through programs and projects that address recycling, litter abatement, beautification, preservation of the earth, and natural resource conservation. Keep Gastonia Beautiful interacts with schools across Gaston County, providing in-classroom presentations, contests, and free educational material for Gaston County teachers. Scout programs and local civic groups are also encouraged to participate.

Litter Committee

Keep Gastonia Beautiful has provided recycling containers in our downtown area to encourage recycling throughout our downtown. Curbside Recycling Program is showing increased recycling rates weekly and we encourage the use of these great recycling containers.
