Housing Rehabilitation

 
The Housing and Neighborhoods Division office of Community Development works to help low- to moderate- income homeowners to procure services and housing repairs that may be not readily available or affordable. 
 
Homeowner Rehabilitation Program
The Homeowner Housing Rehabilitation Program works to help low and moderate income homeowners fix their homes. The program is designed to repair major operation systems making the home safe and comfortable for many years to come.  Grant assistance is available up to a maximum of $35,000.00, which is secured by a ten-year lien.
 
 
Health and Safety Repair Program
The Health and Safety Repair program is designed to address the repair of one failing or inoperable major system in the home up to a maximum assistance amount of $5,000.  This program is available to homeowners residing within the corporate limits of the City of Gastonia only.
 

Water and Sewer Connection Assistance Program
The Water and Sewer Connection Assistance Program assists with the tap fees and the plumbing costs associated with connecting to the City water/sewer system.  Assistance is available to those persons within the required proximity of current available City of Gastonia water and sewer systems.
