Gastonia, N.C. - August 3, 2022: Detectives from the Gastonia Police Department (GPD) are investigating the homicide of 48-year-old Donald Watts of Gastonia that occurred early this morning inside a home.
At approximately 2:30 this morning, GPD officers were dispatched to a home in the 700 block of Belfast Drive to check on a resident of the home after a possible assault.
Upon arrival, officers located Watts deceased inside the home.
An autopsy will be conducted to determine Watts’ exact cause of death.
This remains an active investigation and there is no suspect information at this time.
