Detectives Investigate Shooting of 16-Year-Old Male

GASTONIA, N.C. – September 10, 2021 – Detectives from the Gastonia Police Department are investigating the shooting of a 16-year-old male that occurred yesterday afternoon in a home on Keith Drive. Investigators do not believe that this shooting was random.  Detectives are urging anyone with information regarding this shooting to contact police.

Yesterday afternoon (Thursday, September 9), at approximately 4:56 p.m., officers responded to a home in the 1800 block of Keith Drive for the report of a shooting that had just occurred.

Responding officers located a 16-year-old male resident of the home inside the house and suffering from a gunshot wound.  The victim was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries by medical personnel. 

This remains an active investigation.  Anyone with information regarding this shooting or this suspect is asked to contact detectives at 704-866-6878.  Residents may also call Crime Stoppers of Gaston County at 704-861-8000.
