Education Committee

Keep Gastonia Beautiful's environmental education objectives are met through programs and projects that address recycling, litter abatement, beautification, preservation of the earth, and natural resource conservation.
Keep Gastonia Beautiful interacts with schools across Gaston County, providing in-classroom presentations, contests, and free educational material for Gaston County teachers.  Scout programs and local civic groups are also encouraged to participate. (Chairman, Melissa Fonseca)

  • "LOUIE" the Litterbug:   Louie the Litterbug puppet is another of our mascots. Louie visits third and fourth grade classrooms in Gaston County and educates students about the problems of litter and litter abatement.
